NEW MUSIC ALERT

After spending a few days with some of Country Radio's best, I feel energized and inspired once again. The music industry is truly one of a kind, and I'm beyond honored to be a part of it each and every day. Many of the panels at CRS (Country Radio Seminar) this year featured topics that sparked some of the most useful conversations needed in the industry. The experts offering their insights didn't hold back on any information, including tips on navigating the ever-changing landscapes and staying ahead of the inevitable evolution brought about by the advancement of technology and changes in how listeners consume music.

I had the pleasure of attending UMG Nashville’s luncheon at The Ryman on Thursday during CRS. The lineup was spectacular, featuring some of Universal Nashville’s best acts such as Chris Stapleton, Luke Bryan, Jon Pardi, Priscilla Block, Tyler Hubbard, Luke Grimes, Kassi Ashton, War and The Treaty, Parker McCollum, and Keith Urban.

Apparently, Keith was riding on the high that comes after performing on one of the most legendary stages, so he surprised folks at BNA in Concourse C with a serenade. Keith performed seven songs during his airport set, including his new single, “Messed Up As You.”

I'm sure a combination of shock, happiness, and minor heart attacks ensued. These are emotions that only a beloved musician like Keith Urban can evoke.

In hip-hop, Cardi B makes her comeback with a freestyle over the 1999 classic Missy Elliott track, “She’s a Bitch.” Alongside the debut of the single, the Bronx rapper released a music video that has already garnered over 4 million streams within three days of its release.

Another polarizing figure in rap is That Mexican OT, who dropped his latest mixtape, "Texas Technician." The project features 16 tracks and notable collaborations with Slim Thug, Paul Wall, Fredo Bang, and MoneyBagg Yo. Mexican OT succeeds in staying true to the old-school Texas rap sound while adding his own spin to the mix, and that’s trill!
