Hello, Music Lovers! Welcome back to this week’s new music roundup. Not only have the cosmos been in a chaotic state the past few days, but it seems the weather can’t make up its mind either. We go from warmer days back to chilly temperatures. On the bright side, it looks like the sun is setting at a later time, which offers us a little light at the end of the tunnel with Spring's arrival.
The collaboration we did not see coming but keeps on giving is Pitbull & Dolly! They hop on a track, creating a party mix of Parton’s classic song, “9 to 5.”
With their distinctive blend of psychedelic rock, funk, and soul, Khruangbin continues to push the boundaries as musicians. The band recently dropped the single "May Ninth" from their upcoming album, "A LA SALA," slated for release on April 5th. Fans can expect an eclectic mix of sounds that showcase Khruangbin's signature style and experimental flair.
Indie rock aficionados rejoice as Vampire Weekend gears up to release their eagerly anticipated album, "Only God Was Above Us," also scheduled for April 5th. The band gives fans a sneak peek of said upcoming project through their two singles, "Capricorn" and "Gen-X Corps.”
Putting her own spin on a beloved classic, Maren Morris breathes new life into Billy Idol's iconic hit, "Dancing with Myself." With her sultry vocals, Morris pays homage to the past while adding her own contemporary twist, proving that great music is timeless.
We stan Maren Moren around these parts so I’ll take her in every musical form and like her previous releases, this bop is greatly appreciated!
Regional Mexican music icon, Peso Pluma, has been a trending topic since the Grammys... What a perfect time to drop a collab... am I right? Check out Junior H & Peso Pluma’s collab “A Tu Manera.”
While on the topic of the genre, Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga won Valentine’s Day with their song “Tu Perfume.” Timing is everything, and Banda MS de Sergio Lizárraga certainly knows how to seize the moment, with their release date falling on the universal day of love. Well played, boys. Well played.
