New Music: Weekly Releases for April 1, 2024
NEW MUSIC ALERT
Hello, music lovers! Welcome back to another #musicalert with the newest releases this week. While we may be in Mercury Retrograde on top of the Eclipse sundae, I don't think there's anything that can keep the majority down, considering we have a new Beyoncé album on our hands. Have y’all given it a listen yet? If not, no worries. I got you covered!
Beyoncé released her highly anticipated country music project, “COWBOY CARTER.” The 27-track album features a number of folks in the genre, including the one and only Dolly Parton, on “Dolly P,” the interlude to Bey’s rendition of “Jolene.” I imagine East Tennessee's finest surely cosigns the Houston native with her participation on track 25: “TYRANT.”
Apparently, it's a family affair considering Dolly’s goddaughter, Miley Cyrus, also hopped on a track with Queen Bey. Listen to “II MOST WANTED,” here.
Other notable collaborations include Willie Nelson, Linda Martell, and Post Malone.
Beyoncé showed love to other rising artists pioneering the way for Black country acts in the genre, which is otherwise mostly white performers. Those pioneers are Tanner Adell, Brittney Spencer, Tiera Kennedy, Reyna Roberts, Willie Jones, and Shaboozey.
A pre-release for Glass Animals' “I Love You So F***ing Much” album that's set to drop on July 19th. “Creatures in Heaven” gives listeners a taste of what’s to come on their forthcoming LP later this summer.
