New Music: Weekly Releases for April 21, 2024

Hello, music lovers! Welcome back to another #musicalert regarding the latest songs from some of our favorites.
Though the weather has been a bit back and forth, I can truly say I sense Spring has sprung and can’t wait for the days to get warmer. After all, it’s already starting to smell like Margaritas on the patio for some of us. IYKYK
It seems that everyone is talking about the elephant in the room, that elephant being the new record Taylor Swift dropped on Friday. Based on my socials, all the girlies are happily looping Swift’s latest project, so I guess let’s jump into it!
Taylor Swift's latest album, "The Tortured Poets Department," made waves with both fans and Music Industry standards alike. Swift broke Spotify's record for most streams in a day.. naturally.
The album comprises 31 tracks primarily centered around themes of love, loss, and heartbreak, with only a few songs deviating from this focus.
Swift described the album as an anthology reflecting on fleeting and fatalistic moments, both sensational and sorrowful. One standout track, "Fortnight" featuring Post Malone, became Spotify's most-streamed song in a day, portraying an intense two-week love affair.
Notable songs like "So Long, London" and "thanK you aIMee" hint at Swift's personal experiences, including her relationship with British actor Joe Alwyn and speculated tensions with Kim Kardashian and Kanye West. Back in February while accepting her win at the Grammy Awards, Swift announced the album.. which has only built up the anticipation surrounding its debut since then.
