New Music: Weekly Releases - 12/17/21
NEW MUSIC FRIDAY
[**In my Lil’ Kim voice**] REAL HIP-HOP, HIP-HOP!!! The music genre got busy this week with plenty of new music from various household names in the rap game.
Lil Durk surprised many with his latest collaboration with one of 2021’s most controversial Country artists, Morgan Wallen. The pair is currently trending on Twitter with many folks either loving the new single, ‘Broadway Girls', or absolutely boycotting the track and the Rapper all together. For those that missed the racial slur incident involving Wallen back in January,.. well that basically sums it up. However, everyone is entitled to their opinions and I must say the track is catchy.
Though I would have never imagined these two on a song together, apparently anything can happen in COVID era.
Another surprise to hit the masses is Aaliyah’s posthumous release featuring The Weeknd, on a song titled ‘Poison.’ A pleasant surprise for folks eager to receive more material from the late Princess of R&B. Music lovers from around the way will continue to keep their eyes and ears perked up while patiently waiting for any previews of the many gems the Houghton Estate has kept in a vault for the past decade.
We also have new albums from Roddy Ricch, Chief Keef, and Gucci Mane. Gucci Mane has made it a tradition to drop a Christmas album since his release from prison. At this point, if Gucci doesn’t release a Christmas album.. did Christmas even happen? I digress.
